Dressing up leggings: Carly
I did a video a few weeks ago to better explain my styling, so decided to do the same this week. My basic thoughts on dressing up leggings, is to wear them with something that is not athletic! Take a peek to see my current favorite Athleta legging working it's way into 6+ outfits. Mine are last season, but these are the same material/feel from this season!

Current Trends: Schitt's Creek Edition
Over the course of Covid, I've had A LOT of time (like many of you), to watch a new TV series. I had been told by several friends that I needed to watch Schitt's Creek. The dramatized humor sucked me in, as did the fashion. In my opinion, the most notably dressed character was Moira Rose. Like her character, her wardrobe is edgy, over-the-top, and dripping with accessories (wigs being her favorite). I grew to love her character as the seasons went on. Apparently she is s

Shopping has changed so much in the last six months. It use to feel like I kinda lived at the Mall but, not now. This week I had a client that had hired me to do personal shopping for her. This is a great service we have that may be of interest to you if you are not quite ready to venture out. I always like to bring options and within the options I try to bring two sizes of each item. So there is always returns and today was my return day. While taking things back to th

The leggings are continuing! For my Stylist Saturday blog I wrote last weekend, I spoke of my go-to faux leather legging from White House Black Market. These are so great when you are out and about and want an edge to your outfit. However, I also wear leggings in a physical activity capacity that requires a different type of legging. I still want to have a fashion appeal in some of my workout wear so when I saw this legging from Athleta, I knew I needed it in my fitness c

Styling leggings Here's the deal. I hate leggings. Did I just say that? Yep! It's true. Since leggings have become the next obsession after skinny jeans, I look around and think women are telling all their secrets. I rarely wear leggings. There's a few things I don't want to share. But, there are two occasions that I do pull out my leggings. 1. I wear them camping with a thigh length cardigan for that comfy-cozy feel. 2. I wear them under a skirt when I'm cold and want

I am SO EXCITED to share my favorite fun leggings with you that I believe every single person needs to own. Like Sydnie, I'm all about faux leather leggings and my favorite pair is from Spanx! I wear these all the time and recommend them to everyone! Some leggings on me feel too tight and restricting, however these are very lightweight. They do hold you in a bit on the tummy area, but that's what Spanx do! I've worn these with tunics, longer sweaters, cardigans, and furry ves

We are talking about another fall item!! LEGGINGS! I realize many of us LIVE in our leggings, especially these days. I wear a lot of Athleta when teaching dance but I like to step it up when it comes to getting dressed for other occasions. My favorite look last year was a pair of faux leather leggings from White House Black Market. I wore them with a variety of pieces on top and generally did a Marc Fisher black leather ankle booties (similar) for footwear. They create s

Buy-of-the-Week: Scarves or in 2020 Facemasks :)
Other than my scarf I got last season (which I can't find anything similar for under $500 and I don't want any of you spending that much on a scarf!), I haven't bought a scarf in probably three years. Being 2020, I have however bought a gazillion facemasks. While I find most of them to be fine, my first buy for my kiddos has been a home run from the get-go. I know a LOT of friends who have had trouble finding a mask their kids love, so I thought I would share that here toda

Stylist Saturday Scarves: Devin
Not going to lie... scarves are hard for me. I was blessed with the fabulous genes of "no neck" so scarves don't really do any justice for me. A few years ago, when ascots made a come back, I was obsessed with the idea! I loved how they looked and I tried so hard to pull one off but I failed. It looked like there was a blank space between my upper body and my head. However, there is one type of scarf I gravitate towards and it's the giant blanket scarf (similar option) that h

Buy-Of-The-Week: Animal Print Scarf
I do not think of myself as a person that wears scarves. But, looking through photos over the last two years says different. I prefer large square scarves that I tie two corners together and I drape like a cowl peeking through the lapels of a topper coat. When worn like this scarves become a statement piece and the textures and color show personality. This scarf in the picture is from Ann Taylor three years ago. It's still one of my favorites. But, with all the animal p
