What it is:
Duel Neck Essential Tank Why I bought: A good layer is the key to a successful, cohesive wardrobe. In fact, I keep multiple on hand (in neutral colors) as I tend to wear a tank or cami under 75% of my tops. This tank in particular has a reversible neck; scoop on one side and "v" on the other. The versatility is a no-brainer to have in the closet. They are also seamless in material and wash and wear very nicely. Where I bought: White House Black Market

Local Boutique Spotlight: Style Niche
Feature Boutique: Style Niche in Rosemount, MN Today I want to introduce you to another local boutique but first, I want to tell you why I like featuring local boutiques. I've been a wardrobe consultant for A La Mode for over four years now. I have shopped with quite a few women that are overwhelmed by the mall. I get it! It's not a quick trip to the mall. When you go to the mall, you have to carve out a chunk of time to park, walk to where you want to go, and hopefully

This week while doing a closet analysis with a client, I got to put outfits together that she requested had an "Old Hollywood" feminine feel. Life requires me to wear jeans and casual wear in most of my down time but, I am happiest when I'm dressed up. Dressing up makes me feel more confident and womanly. I realize that for some, dressing up is pure torture, and that's okay because it would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things. After my visit to my clients clos

What it is:
Athleta Printed Hudson Board Short Why I bought:
I love items for casual days that don't look all that casual. I love that these shorts have zip pockets and I can style them as a nicer outfit AND on a sweaty day at the beach or with my kiddos. I also plan on bringing them to any warm weather destination until they bite the dust as I love that I could do anything from hike/swim in them OR go to dinner.
Where I bought: Athleta
Price:
Now on sale for only $29.

My favorite jean for summer and heading into fall, is the wide leg, raw hem jean. I know I’ve done a few posts about jeans but this is one style I’m obsessing over lately! I love how they look with platform sandals and they will be killer with a bootie for fall. The length styles are great as well ranging from ankle length to crop and they look great on everyone! My fave are these Madewell jeans from Nordstrom! Happy summer! Jess

Last weekend was a great one for 2 reasons: 1. My mom and baby sister came for a visit 2. I took them to Opitz for some retail therapy We (stylists) have mentioned Optiz in our blogs before. If you haven't been there, it's an experience. Everything is organized by size and color. Sounds easy enough, right? You then have to dig piece by piece along the mile-long racks in hopes of scoring big with your favorite brands that just happen to be reduced in price. I was talking t

What it is Classic Wrist Watch Why I bought it When I was in third grade, I got a Mickey Mouse wrist watch with a red adjustable band for Christmas. I was proud to wear it and I've been wearing watches ever since. Cell phones have reduced the need for a wrist watch. But, Cell phones are tacky when at a luncheon or business meeting. Yet, a wrist watch is acceptable and tells quite a bit about a person's style and eye for detail. There are so many styles and options available
