Cleaning MY Closet
I'm a weirdo. I get joy out of cleaning and organizing closets. Now that I'm stuck in my house counting the days of seclusion away from the public, in an attempt to avoid the Coronavirus, I am tackling my own closet. We've had a record season for the amount of clients we've had this Fall and Winter. So, my closet has been needing some attention. <-- Before 1. I started on the floor and pulled all the items on the floor out of the closet and vacumned. Personally, I'd prefer to

Closet Organization: Carly's Closet
In the coming weeks, we will be giving everyone a quick peek into how we organize our closets. I'm going to start things out by giving you a quick walk around my space. I also have a video tour at the end if you prefer watching over reading :) Our closet is straight off of our bathroom. There is no door, you just walk into it through the bathroom. Footprint wise, it is not large, however our closet designer was such a star that she made an amazing space for us with not a

Nordstrom: Devin's Picks
1. Dynasty Leopard Print Blazer - I'm a huge blazer fan and cheetah print fan, so the combination of them is a dream come true! I love the shape of this one too. 2. Topshop Dara Stud Sandal - perfect for warm weather. You can wear them with dresses or I think they would be adorable with a pair of straight leg jeans. 3. Topshop leopard Print Satin Flounce Midi Skirt - such a trendy piece but you can wear it so many different ways. I love how it's outfitted online, but I thi

Nordstrom: Kathy's Picks
As I shopped Nordstrom's sale online I found myself not looking at the beautiful dresses that typically catch my eye or the statement heels. I was drawn to what my daily need is right now while I'm confining myself to my house; comfortable, cute, workable clothing. I think it's healthy and important to get up and dress for your day. My family could easily slip into the routine of living in their pajamas while were staying at home. But, I don't think that is a positive habi

I am thrilled that retailers are wanting to motivate their shoppers despite not being able to physically shop. Our world very much knows the online retail industry and as much as I prefer to shop in person, companies offering discounts is so nice as people are really stuck indoors (for who knows how long). To me, shopping and fashion bring creativity. For some, pulling out a coloring book or guitar fulfills that outlet. For me, I find inspiration in clothing. So without f

Online Retail Therapy: COVID-19 Isolation Response
We are going on a week of maintaining social distance and washing our hands (more than usual). As sad as we are about missing our clients during this time of unknown, we are confident we can still bring you a glimmer of hope and fashion! Many stores are starting to offer 25% off site wide. Nordstrom and Anthropologie are two that RARELY do that on any basis. What a great time to do some retail therapy with the À La Mode team! This next week, get ready to see our recommenda

Spring Casual Wear: Stylist Saturday
Spring is nearly sprung and I am giddy with excitement. I have had a fabulous winter hiatus and the team and I are excited about what we have been cooking up for clients (more on that come early June!). A big thank you to my clients who dealt with my diva"ish" behavior this winter and will again this summer (reminder I will not be taking appointments June 15th-September 15th so please book with me asap for spring!). I love you and love getting to work with you! For this wee

J.Crew Tortoise Hoops: Buy-of-the-Week
I have been very choosy when it comes to any and every thing that goes into my wardrobe lately. My rule of thumb as of two years ago, was that I only buy what I love. As far as price and pairing goes, that should also be cohesive. I find that since purging my closet and maintaining a clear clothing inventory, getting dressed is much easier. Today while shopping the Knollwood shopping area, I found a great accessory that I LOVED, was appropriate pricing, and would go with m

New Blazer: Stylist Kathy
Do you have blazers in your closet that you can't quite figure out what to pair them with? Maybe the color is a bit odd or the plaid is a bit mute. I was introduced to the store "UNTUCKit" this week. I'd been in it before looking at shirts for my husband but, I did not realize that they had a women's line of shirts, dresses and blazers, too. The store at the Mall of America caters to men but, if you ask, they will bring out options from their backroom stock for women. So

Buy of the Week: BB Cream
For this week's Buy Of The Week, I decided that I'm going to change it up a bit and talk about makeup instead of fashion! The Minnesota winter has taken a toll on my skin and has made it extremely dry. I have dry patches all over my face that just won't heal. I have tried exfoliating followed by intense moisturizers, and face oils. I have even doused my face in Aquaphor, but nothing has helped! I have tried hiding them with one of my favorites, my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Mag
