Should I set up an initial consult first?  

If you're unsure whether À La Mode is right for you, definitely set up a consultation. If you're already a fan, we usually include the initial analysis at the start of your closet analysis or shopping trip (this time is still free, and you won’t be charged our hourly rate). This way, you don't need to worry about setting up two separate appointments!

 

Do I need a Closet Analysis?

If you feel like you have great pieces but are stuck on how to use them, a closet analysis is perfect for you. We’ll help you purge items that aren’t working, discuss body proportions and styling tips, and create lots of outfits using what you already own. At the end of the closet analysis, you’ll receive a personalized shopping list, whether you decide to shop with À La Mode or not! Additionally, a closet analysis gives your stylist a chance to understand your style and see what’s already in your wardrobe before a shopping trip.

 

Will my Closet Analysis really take three hours?

Most closet analyses take around three hours, regardless of how much or how little you have in your closet. If you have an exceptionally large wardrobe, you can purchase additional time at the end of the session or schedule another appointment at À La Mode's hourly rate.

 

What should I expect from a Shopping Trip?

A full season's wardrobe in just three hours. If you have a specific outfit need, like a killer outfit for a wedding, plan on one hour of shopping time. À La Mode knows the best shops and what will work well for you. Our clients frequently praise us for our efficiency!

 

I hate shopping, can you do it for me?

YES! Especially for women, we love for you to join us at least once (men, you're lucky—sizing is much easier for you, so you don't have to come if you don't want to!). We can also bring the stores to you. A typical shopping trip for a season's wardrobe includes two hours of shopping time and around two hours of styling time at your home.

 

I would love to work with À La Mode but can't afford it right now, what else can I do?

A great starting point for many of our clients is an online outfit consultation. We can assemble a great look you’ll love, and you handle the shopping and returns. At only $25 per outfit, this is a popular choice for many. À La Mode also provides free daily advice on our Facebook page, blog, and monthly newsletter.

 

How far will À La Mode travel?

Based in the Twin Cities, À La Mode can travel up to 30 miles from downtown Minneapolis. If you live outside that range, you can bring your closet to us at no additional charge. We can meet at a local shopping center, or you can pay a mileage fee for us to come to you.

 

Where in the world did À La Mode get it's funky name from?

Believe it or not, À La Mode does not mean ice cream on pie! The phrase is French for "in style or in fashion"—which is exactly what À La Mode aims to deliver every day. When founder Carly, whose two favorite foods are pie and ice cream (though not together!), discovered this, she knew she had found the perfect name for her styling dreams.
