Stylist Saturday: Out of Quarantine
Summer is nearly officially here! Who else feels like it has already been two months long?!? Though our typical summer of hosting friends and family from near and far has taken a severe hit, our MO in the summer involves a ton of time outside, especially by the water.
I took these pictures around 6pm after a day in the sun. I had spent the day with the kiddos around our neighborhood and in the lake. Our neighborhood moms got together for a social distanced happy hour at 4pm to celebrate the end of the school year and I was thrilled to realize I didn't even have to change! I started my look with my JCrew leopard print deep v-neck one piece. I have wrote about this suit before, I will cry when it dies. I also have it in a solid pink and have been considering the tiger stripe they offered this season as well. If you are super endowed it will likely be too low cut, but for someone who lost her chest post kids (and didn't have much before) it is just the most flattering and comfortable suit ever. When I was not in the water, I had on my favorite denim shorts, the Bridgette by Frame. I love the light color of them and the distressed feel. I got them last year from Nordstrom rack, but they have the same wash and cut currently at Nordstrom (with one, one star review sadly). I am typically a 2 in shorts, 26/27 in denim and purchased these in a 27 last year. Not sure if they changed them or if the reviewer was having a bad day, but I really, really like them and get asked about them whenever I am wearing. On my top I went with a tunic shirt I got from Anthropologie last season to protect me from the sun (similar here). It wasn't intended for swim, but I love using it as a cover-up over suits. If you like something a bit more substantial, I ADORE Tommy Bahama's swim shirts. I have two of them which I love in crazy prints, but they also make a stunning white that I will likely purchase once my Anthro one kicks the bucket. To finish off my look, I used my beloved JCrew hat to cover up my undone hair/keep my face shaded. Long live that hat! On my feet, I finished the look with my reef slides. Comfortable, great for water, and look cute!
So quarantine or no quarantine, this is a look I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Wishing everyone the best!
