Basic Winter Staples with Flare

Man am I done with winter! However on the upside, it has given me more time to get creative with my winter wardrobe, ha! This week was a basic outfit, but I felt fabulous in it. Even my dog Ralphie was intrigued :)

On this snowy day, I popped on one of my favorite purchases this season, a bishop sleeve sweater from Target. In general I would NEVER tell people to buy a sweater from Target for the pilling/short lifespan, however this year I was desperate for an interesting black sweater that was fitted enough through the body to wear with skirts and this has exceeded my expectations. It was part of the "A New Day" collection, but has sadly sold through. I will keep my eyes peeled and update if I see it available again or something similar.

Next, I grabbed my Paige Hoxton Straight leg denim to balance out the more fitted sweater. I finished the outfit with a front tuck, my Splendid booties (which have a fun leather/suede combo going on), and a big enamel earring (hid in the picture by my hair, but added a great pop). When heading outside I put on a faux sherling jacket I picked up at Nordstrom Rack (similar here) to give it even more pop.

Nothing earth changing about this outfit, however goes to show how buying basics with a bit more interest really go a long way to creating a fun and stylish outfit.

Cannot wait to break out the spring outfits, hang in there everyone!

xo Carly
