Cocktails in the Courtyard with Cameron Silver - sponsored by the FGI-Mspl

Thursday evening, June 20th, Carly, Sydnie and I went to the Minneapolis Club for "Cocktails in the Courtyard with Cameron Silver", hosted by the Minneapolis Chapter of Fashion Group International (FGI). We weren't in the courtyard as the name implied, we were in one of the club's beautiful gathering rooms. On this night, an intimate group gathered to listen and take in Cameron's presentation of walking us through re-occurring fashion trends from 1900 forward. Cameron talked through fashion history of designers, personalities, and styles that are unforgettable.

Cameron's accomplishments are quite lengthy and diverse in the fashion world. In 1997, He opened the store DECADES in Los Angeles, featuring vintage haute couture designs. Beginning in 2013, he starred in the Bravo reality show, "The Dukes of Melrose". And in 2015, he was named Fashion Director for H by Halston and is regularly seen featuring Halston attire on QVC. Needless to say, he was very comfortable speaking to our group and sharing some of his knowledge and stories of years of dressing personalities.

Cameron brought a pop-up shop of vintage Chanel, Dior, DVF and more. He signed and sold his book, "DECADES, A Century of Fashion" . It was a fun night to dress up, get out and celebrate the history of the art of fashion. We, at A La Mode, are passionate about style and being informed.

Happy Wardrobing!
